Access Statement

Our building, constructed in 1893, has resulted in accommodation that is modest in size and distributed over three floors accessible by stairs. We have complemented the historic constraints and character through the use of white linens, bright paint and fabrics and shabby chic furniture.

There are some features that may pose a problem for people with mobility issues. We are a three storey building with four bedrooms on the first floor and three bedrooms on the second floor.

We do not have any guest rooms on the ground floor and we do not have a lift.

On arrival there is street parking with no restrictions and no charge, the property has 1 step up to a gated wall entrance to the properties front door. There is a small step at the front door.

We offer assistance with luggage to rooms where we explain facilities of the rooms.

From entering the property by the front door the hallway leads into the breakfast room and stairs which leads to first, second and third floor.

To access the first floor there are 12 steps leading to one of the bathrooms and Room 1, turn right and there is a shower room and a toilet on the left, these three bathrooms service the 4 non en-suite bedrooms. Continue along the landing and up 2 further steps leading to rooms 2, 3 and 4.

  • Room 1: Family Room. A double bed with a fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, a tub chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is en-suite with a shower, a small basin and a toilet. This room can sleep upto 4 people plus an infant in a travel cot.
  • Room2: Single Room. One single bed with a wardrobe, a bedside table, a chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is not en-suite but does have the use of a shower room, a toilet and a bathroom just outside the room.
  • Room 3: Twin Room. Two single beds with a wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, a chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is not en-suite but does have the use of a shower room, a toilet and a bathroom just outside the room.
  • Room 4: Double Room. One Double bed and a single day bed with a fitted wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is not en suite but does have the use of a shower room, a toilet and a bathroom just outside the room.

 

The next floor is up 8 steps a small landing 8 further steps leads to rooms 5, 6 and 7.

  • Room 5: Single Room. One single bed with a wardrobe, a bedside table, a chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is not en-suite but does have the use of a shower room, a toilet and a bathroom just outside the room.
  • Room 6: Cosy Double Room. A double bed with a wall hooks for hanging clothes, a tall chest of drawers, a bedside table, a chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is en-suite with a shower, a basin and a toilet. This room can sleep upto 2 people.
  • Room 7: Double Room. A double bed with a built in wardrobe, a dressing table, 2 bedside tables, a chair, hospitality tray, digital television, information folder and towels are provided. This room is en-suite with a shower, a basin and a toilet. This room can sleep upto 2 people plus an infant in a travel cot.

 

There is a good bus service available to and from the B&B from up in Stoke village (0.4 miles away about a 5 minute walk). A taxi service can be arranged.

There are a variety of restaurants located in Stoke village as well as pubs, takeaways, a post office, laundrette and a small supermarket. We are only 1.4 miles away from the railway station and the city centre.

We can cater for all diet requirements, please advise us when booking your accommodation.

Rooms are ready by 4pm earlier checking in can be arranged and deposit is required.

Departure time on day of checking out is 10 am.

The property has central heating throughout and double glazing in all rooms.

The dining room has 5 tables and seats upto 14 guests. It has a tub chair, a fireplace, fridge-freezer, microwave and crockery for guests to use.

The property has a fire alarm system and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers in place on all floors and emergency lighting following the marked route. Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
